How It All Began
This adventure started in 2019 with a single backyard colony. I found myself instantly fascinated with the little creatures.
The following year I increased to 5 colonies and have been slowly splitting, expanding and learning ever since. I moved my operation from my backyard to the Foothills county - near the township of Dewinton, Alberta.
As my experience increased, I started making more splits, queens and of course, lots of honey in the process.
Initially intending to sell nucs to supplement my hobby, I found myself increasingly successful and able to expand further than before. I pride myself in low volume, high quality bees and bee products. I want to provide the best bees for my neighbours, friends, and fellow bee enthusiasts.
I continue to learn every day from these busy little girls. There is always something new to experience.
Bow River Bees produces fresh, organic honey from our hives here in Calgary, Alberta. Not only are we beekeepers, but we are committed to growing the bee community.
